We are delighted to inform you that REGISTRATION FOR THE CONFERENCE IS NOW OPEN!
There are 2 stages to registration this year.
First of all, make your accommodation booking. Newcastle has many good hotels in the city centre, and close to the University. We have selected 3 hotels:
Motel One is a very good 3* hotel in the City Centre, a little further away from the University than the Sandman but about 15 mins on foot to the conference venue (or one metro stop); rates at the time of writing are £68.50 per night with breakfast. Book direct with the hotel or on our website.
We can also recommend the Premier Inn (Gate) which is 10 mins on foot from the University and at the time of writing has a flexible rate of £55/night and a saver rate of £40/night. You need to book direct with the hotel for these rates.
There are many other hotels within walking distance of the University, so you may wish to explore options on your regular hotel booking site.
Next, register for the conference – we have managed to keep rates down this year again so registration for the full conference is £110 for members of the Society, and the reduced rate is £75 (for postgraduate, retired and unwaged members).
If you want to join us for the gala dinner at the Newcastle Civic Centre, the 3 course dinner with wine will cost an additional £40. We are still finalising the menu but there will be a choice of a vegetarian or non-vegetarian main course (starter will also be vegetarian), and you will need to select one when you register. If you want to wait to receive the full menu before choosing your option we’ll get that to you by the end of February.
These are rates for members of the Society, so if you are not a member, you will need to join by following the instructions by clicking here.
We will issue non-itemised receipts for the conference costs (and membership where paid with the conference) in your delegate pack.
The deadline for conference registration is 19th March
You can register – and pay – online by clicking here.
If you have not already booked travel to Newcastle, we encourage you to do so in order to avail of the best possible fares. The University is 10 mins on foot from the main train station, and there is a direct Metro train from the Airport (to Haymarket Station). All the conference panels and receptions, as well as dinner, will take place on or just across from campus.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to Newcastle in April!
